Making a Difference
At Nox Tourism we believe that South Africa has the potential to be a truly outstanding nation. It has phenomenal natural beauty, mineral wealth, and incredible industrious and forgiving people.
However, like all countries, we have our fair share of problems. At Nox we believe in being a part of the solution and we take our corporate responsibility very seriously. We try to make a difference on two different fronts; job creation & education, as we believe that these are the two most important factors in a prosperous and peaceful nation.
Job Creation
Unlike many seasonal businesses, we do our best to retain all of our staff throughout the year, and we encourage them to develop their skills during the quiet months. Hiring and firing according to demand is completely against our policy, and we constantly see the benefits to company and employee, of loyal, stable, long-term work relationships.
Education
We have chosen to support an early childhood development charity, and a portion of all profits are donated to TREE. It is well documented that the most important formative years in a person's life, are from birth to age 6. The majority of our learning, and our "map" of the world is developed, during these years. TREE focuses on giving young children from disadvantaged communities and rural areas (often devastated by the AIDS epidemic), the support and infrastructure that they need to have a fair chance in life.
