This is a definite must! As one of the winners for the New 7 Wonders of Nature, it deserves a visit. The views from up there are breathtaking, with spectacular vistas of the City Bowl all the way around to Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles. If you don’t make it up the mountain you haven’t experienced Cape Town! But make sure you go on a clear day, as the cable car does not operate if there is a cloud cover or very strong winds.
You can also walk up from the cable car station if you'd like to choose the strenuous route!
After you have taken a stroll along the “table top” you can sit down and enjoy a meal at the self-service restaurant, go abseiling or just watch the adrenaline junkies have fun abseiling the highest commercial “long-drop” in the world at 112 meters.
A fantastic alternative to climbing Table Mountain is a trip up Lion's Head. This is a less strenuous walk and it has the added benefit of giving 360 degree views while climbing up.
